Merrick Garland

Merrick Garland currently serves as a chief judge for U.S. Court Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. He was first appointed to the court in 1997 by then-President Bill Clinton. President Obama nominated him to fill the seat of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia in March.
